Transportation-Special - Lynchburg, New Freedom, Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living
New Freedom provides transportation to non-emergency medical appointments, pharmacies, and grocery stores for individuals with disabilities. Trips are provided in accessible vans. New Freedom is one of several transportation programs offered by CVACL for the population it serves throughout Central Virginia, which includes older adults. Individuals, families, and caregivers are encouraged to contact the agency for more information about available transportation services.

Application process
Transportation is provided on a first-come-first-serve basis for appointments Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 2:30pm. We encourage a week's notice, but ask for at least three working days, to offer a better chance to fulfill your request. CVACL applies a sliding-scale fee. Income and medical expenses are taken into consideration.
