Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA) has been providing accessible public transportation to America's Historic Triangle since 1977, an area covering portions of James City County, the City of Williamsburg, and York County. WATA also operates paratransit services focusing on curb to curb transportation for persons with disabilities who are unable to use the fixed route system. WATA's fleet of accessible vehicles come fully equipped to handle wheelchairs, as well as the ability to kneel the bus, making loading and unloading passengers as comfortable as possible.
