Foster Care - Roanoke, Commonwealth Catholic Charities

Provides a home for children who are experiencing a variety of emotional, behavioral and social problems due to a history of abuse or neglect. Serves children from infancy to 21 years of age who require a more therapeutic environment than regular foster care including professional case management, supervision and support. Provides an environment of emotional safety. Promotes permanency in placement giving stability to the families and the children we serve. Offers foster care to refugee minors, that is, children who have fled their home countries because of war or persecution due to their race, religion, or political affiliation. Social workers and foster parents provide intensive supports to help children adjust to life in the United States. Family stabilization services are provided to refugee youth and their families experiencing family issues related to adjustment, parenting and/or trauma.
