Eligibility

Must be emergency personnel experiencing the effects of a traumatic incident, or requesting education regarding critical incident stress management.

Emergencies call our pager (757) 307-0184 anytime. For questions, requests for education or other non-emergency business call our office weekdays 9am - 5pm.

Application process

Telephone referral to a dispatch center who contacts an on duty team member, usually call back the requester within 2 hours

Description

Critical Incident Stress Management teams work with individuals or groups of emergency medical services, fire, law enforcement and dispatch personnel who may suffer from stress after being involved in a critical incident. Team members provide stress defusing, debriefings, one on one sessions, demobilization, family support and educational programs. For emergencies call our pager (757) 307-0184 anytime.
