The Hanover CASA Program advocates for the best interests of children involved in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court process. The CASA program trains and supervises volunteers who gather information that is shared with the court when making decisions about the needs of abused and neglected children, or other children involved in juvenile dependency cases.

Hanover County Department of Community Resources

The Department of Community Resources provides assistance to government and non-profit agencies in Hanover County to address community needs by facilitating the development, enhancement, and coordination of community resources. The department administers various community service programs, such as the Volunteer Services Program which acts as a volunteer center for volunteer opportunities and resources for Hanover County. This program recruits and refers citizens to volunteer opportunities, provides training and technical assistance on volunteerism and community issues, and promotes increased awareness of volunteer accomplishments and volunteer opportunities. Other programs administered by the Department include Information and Referral, the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program and Youth Leadership and volunteer engagement as well as countywide Hanover Youth Service Council. Hanover's countywide Specialized transportation program, Hanover DASH is also administered by the Department.
