Offers a comprehensive, quality preschool program to eligible families. Establishes partnership agreements among participant families, the public school divisions and the communities they serve to foster maximum development in children. Provides children age 3 to 5 with a quality learning environment and varies experience that supports their social, intellectual, physical and emotional development in a developmental appropriate manner to enhance participant social competence. Supports a parent involvement advocacy group to promote the value of parent volunteering in activities that benefits development and opportunities with their children. Early Head Start (EHS) is a federally funded program designed to support low-income families with pregnant women, infants, and toddlers up to age 3. It provides comprehensive child development and family support services, focusing on health, nutrition, early learning, and parent support.
