Luther Crest offers 39 secure, rent subsidized apartment homes to people age 62 and over, and mobility-impaired people of all ages. Efficiency and one-bedroom apartments are available in addition to apartments designed for mobility-impaired residents.
Provides a Rental Assistance Program for Shenandoah, Warren and Page Counties administered through the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA). WAITING LIST FOR THIS SERVICE: Approximately 6-12 months. The HUD Housing Choice Voucher Program offers Section 8 housing assistance subsidy for qualified households meeting eligibility requirements. Does not offer security deposits or housing repairs. Offers HUD Section 8 rental assistance only. ACCESSIBILITY: Fully accessible to persons with disabilities.

Provides a program designed to provide safe, decent and sanitary housing conditions for low to moderate income families and individuals and to manage resources efficiently. 260 public housing units are managed by the Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
Provides ongoing assistance with rental payments for qualified low income households. Participants lease privately owned single family homes, apartments and manufactured homes. There is a waiting list for this program.

Subsidized housing for the elderly and disabled
Public Housing providing affordable housing to eligible low-income families, including single individuals, during a time that they are in need of decent, safe, and sanitary housing conditions within their financial means.
Rental Security/Utility Deposit Program To assist low income households to secure decent, safe and affordable housing by providing funding for the security and/or utility deposits for a rental housing unit approved by the Rental Housing division. For the purpose of this program, an individual is considered a household. Assistance is provided based on the availability of funding , and is provided one time only to eligible households. Optional Relocation Program To reduce the effect of financial hardships suffered by low or moderate-income tenants or owner occupants who are temporarily or permanently displaced from their housing unit by Code Enforcement or other city agency action due to unsafe and or hazardous living conditions. Assistance is provided based on the availability of funding and is provided one time only to eligible households. Tenant Based Rental Assistance Program To assist low income homeless families and/or those in imminent danger of becoming homeless to secure decent, safe and affordable housing by providing funding for vouchers to be utilized for rental housing units approved by the Rental Housing division. Initial voucher assistance is for twelve months and may be renewed one time for up to an additional twelve months subject to the availability of funding.
