The Care-A-Van Program provides volunteer transportation with a handicapped accessible van for seniors age 60 or better or adults with a physical disability of any age to their health, legal and critical errand appointments.

RATS provides on demand, door-to-door transportation that is safe, reliable, and affordable. Anyone living in the Rockbridge area can ride for any reason. Simply call 48 hours in advance of your need. A sliding fare scale based on income is used. We specialize in transport for the elderly, isolated, low-income, and people with disabilities for the purpose of healthcare, employment, critical errands, shopping, community involvement, and social activities. Rides are also available to regional medical centers in Roanoke, Charlottesville, Fishersville and elsewhere. Medicaid riders call 1-866-386-8331 and make Medicaid healthcare trip reservations at least 5 days in advance. All licenses, operating authorities, and insurances are in place and all drivers are trained and certified to transport Medicaid clients.
