First Home Alliance provides financial education and credit restoration. Participants must complete 12 Financial Education modules and attend 12- three (3) hours workshops that are held on the second Saturday of each month during the Boot Camp series.
An education course for individuals desiring to avoid and/or resolve financial difficulties. Budget, credit, and debt management information is covered in this interactive 2.5 hour course. One-on-one counseling may be scheduled as needed.
Programs for adults include computer and financial literacy, career development and ESL. Residents in need can participate in individualized case management, focusing on eviction prevention and emergency food and financial assistance to keep them stable and in their homes.

Thrive is a long-term mentoring program and not an immediate financial assistance program. Individuals enrolled in the program may receive direct financial support with rent, mortgage, or utilities if it aligns with their goals, or if urgency occurs for them while in the program. To receive housing relief, individuals must actively be in the program and complete certain steps.*

Free services include a personal financial evaluation, budgeting information, credit management, debt liquidation, investment information, insurance information, and workshops/seminars. Program is open to all active duty and retired Air Force Personnel and family members.

The Personal Financial Management Program provides personal financial education, training, counseling and information and referral through one-on-one training, group classes, and unit training. Financial counseling regarding personal budget development, use of credit card, debt management, investment and retirement planning is also available through this program.

Community Resource Navigators provide over the phone guidance to residents to triage personal financial issues, identify immediate action steps to manage expenses and maximize income and make referrals to other services such as eviction relief, food scarcity and employment. The City of Richmond will offer these Community Resource Navigators services in partnership with HumanKind nonprofit agency. The purpose of this program is to help Richmond residents assess and prioritize their financial concerns by connecting residents with the right resources.

Provides career development services to adults who are seeking to gain employment, retain their current employment or advance in their careers. The program offers both group and/or one-to-one tutor training to adults seeking to grow their financial literacy skills, career readiness skills, and/or soft skills. Adult participants will meet with a Certified Workforce Development Professional to develop a customized work readiness plan to enhance their interviewing skills, write a resume and cover letter, career search strategies, and utilize local resources to meet their own needs. In addition, adult participants can receive individualized and tailored training services and support to help prepare them to take the GED exam, Virginia Placement Test, and/or enter into a college or industry specific training program.
