The Women's Center offers a variety of educational programs in financial planning, including budgeting, credit, and debt management.
Counselors will help individuals and families set a budget based on income, living expenses, priorities and goals. Future financial problems can be avoided through planning, wise use of credit, education and family money management.

Provides command GMT's (General Military Training) workshops on financial topics, personal financial counseling, community referrals, leadership training, and command financial specialists training. Also provides all-comer workshops on financial topics. Command Financial Specialist's training is available to service members E-6 and above, or E-5 with Command approval. FFSC Oceana's CFS classes are held at our Dam Neck office.

Thrive is a long-term mentoring program and not an immediate financial assistance program. Individuals enrolled in the program may receive direct financial support with rent, mortgage, or utilities if it aligns with their goals, or if urgency occurs for them while in the program. To receive housing relief, individuals must actively be in the program and complete certain steps.*

The Coast Guard Mutual Assistance provides financial assistance to clients caught in emergency, short-term, financial situations beyond their control that endanger personal well being. An emergency condition is one that arises suddenly, is unforeseen and urgent, and requires immediate attention. Emergency assistance is generally authorized in circumstances that impose a serious financial or personal hardship on the client requiring urgent help to relieve the situation.
