The Legal Aid Justice Center partner with tenants and community organizations to fight for affordable housing, reasonable housing conditions, racial justice in housing, and equitable housing policies. Services include representing tenants facing eviction and in other landlord/tenant disputes, organizing with tenants experiencing unfair conditions, and advocating for better housing policies across the state. We have a particular focus on supporting tenants in public housing.

Assists area clients who face legal dilemmas in housing, public benefits, employment, consumer protection, mental health and the rights of the elderly and individuals with disabilities. The Legal Aid Justice Center will offer full representation in traditional poverty law areas, including housing, consumer protection, employment, education, mental health, disability rights and public benefits to low-income residents of Planning District 10: Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson and City of Charlottesville.
