Provides and coordinates volunteer literacy services for educationally disadvantaged adults in the Central Shenandoah Valley. Provides tutors for ABE, ESL, and GED adult students and those who wish to improve basic reading and writing skills or prepare for U.S. Citizenship. Tutors are free.

The Life Enrichment Center (LEC) is a non-profit organization providing literacy tutoring and other life-giving initiatives for elementary students from Title I Schools across Virginia. Students reading below their grade level receive literacy-based computer lessons. Tutors are matched with one student, one hour a week, for the academic year. For Children K-2nd grade

Literacy for Life provides individualized, one-to-one and small group tutoring and classes for adults in reading, writing, math , ESL, VPT Preparation, work skills and health literacy. The program also supports learners pursuing high school completion through the General Educational Development (GED) Test and National External Diploma Program (NEDP). Literacy for Life's offsite program provides classes taught by professional instructors at area businesses, nonprofit agencies, and public schools.

SLC connects volunteer tutors with adult students who wish to improve their reading skills. The council trains and supports tutors as well as trains and supports students.

Offers diagnostic and remedial services for children with reading difficulties. A full reading diagnosis is conducted every M & T periodically during the academic year. In addition, interviews are held with parents to establish history and case background. Instruction is on a one-to-one basis. Literacy Volunteers - Prince William (LVA-PW) provides adult learners in Prince William County dignity, equity, and inspiration through the gift of literacy and health literacy. Mission success is achieved through holistic literacy, an innovative educational approach developed by and unique to LVA-PW. The approach encapsulates a broader understanding of literacy that encompasses both general English-based literacy skills with complex health-related information.

Local partners for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, coordinate the Winchester Little Libraries that provide free books as well as leading the Campaign for Grade-level Reading.
