An after-school program providing tutoring in reading and other subjects as needed to children living in Gilpin Court and neighboring communities.
The Nottoway County Literacy Program provides free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring in the areas of literacy, GED preparation, English as a Second Language (ESOL), Technology, Math, and Career Building.

SLC connects volunteer tutors with adult students who wish to improve their reading skills. The council trains and supports tutors as well as trains and supports students.
Provides software-based tutoring systems for literacy, English as a Second Language, and GED preparation.
Literacy for Life provides individualized, one-to-one and small group tutoring and classes for adults in reading, writing, math , ESL, VPT Preparation, work skills and health literacy. The program also supports learners pursuing high school completion through the General Educational Development (GED) Test and National External Diploma Program (NEDP). Literacy for Life's offsite program provides classes taught by professional instructors at area businesses, nonprofit agencies, and public schools.

Provides confidential tutoring and classes, including remote services, for adults, free of charge with a one-time registration fee, using trained instructors and volunteers. One-to-one tutoring is available for any adult who wants to improve his or her literacy ability. This program serves both non-native English speakers and native-English speakers. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes are available for non-native English speakers. We offer three levels of English classes (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced), as well as specialized classes and citizenship classes throughout the year.
Provides free instruction for adults in reading, writing, math, basic computer skills, ESOL, and preparation for exams such as the GED and U.S. Citizenship test. Learners and volunteer tutors meet 1-3 hours per week at a public location (or remotely) at a mutually convenient time.

The Life Enrichment Center (LEC) is a non-profit organization providing literacy tutoring and other life-giving initiatives for elementary students from Title I Schools across Virginia. Students reading below their grade level receive literacy-based computer lessons. Tutors are matched with one student, one hour a week, for the academic year. For Children K-2nd grade
Loudoun Literacy Council offers an early literacy enrichment program in partnership with Loudoun County Head Start and STEP programs. Assists children in developing necessary skills to be successful learners and adults to be effective parents. Also, offers literacy enrichment program to families in homeless shelters and to at-risk new parents. Provide Baby Book Bundles to low-income, expectant mothers. Also distributes gently used books to families in Loudoun County who have limited access to books in the home.
Free literacy services for adults with low reading/speaking skills provided by volunteer tutors. ESLC provides training for volunteer tutors as well as professional development opportunities.

The Charlottesville City Schools Adult Education program believes that all adults are capable of learning and deserve a chance to further their education. We offer quality services at affordable cost to a diverse adult population. We offer classes in Basic Academic Skills, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL-five levels), GED Prep, and Family Literacy classes to improve the ability of adults to meet their goals as parents, workers and community members. We also work with businesses to provide custom-designed classes for employees.

Mission success is achieved through holistic literacy, an innovative educational approach developed by and unique to LVA-PW. BEACON offers in-person English and Citizenship classes both in the morning and in the evening. Classes are 12 weeks and site locations include: Bethel Lutheran Church, Manassas Presbyterian Church, Manassas Baptist Church, and Manassas Park Community Center. Students must come to an in-person registration to enroll in online classes.
