Burton offers in-depth study not available in other classes; hands-on experiences, integrated curriculum, enriching experiences, travel opportunities, specialized training and internships. Many programs offer dual-enrollment. Most first year students miss only one class at their base school while earning two credits at Burton.
Provides a summer employment program, Teens at Work, to enable young teens to work at area businesses and non-profits. We provide job experience, vocational training, and incentives.
ACE Center at Hermitage provides career and technical education programs for all students, to assist each student in reaching his/her potential, and to prepare students to be responsible and productive citizens in an ever changing technological world. H.T.C. offers 21 career and technical education programs.
PVCC offers associate degree programs, career studies certificates, and short-term (FastForward) training programs to gain the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to enter the workforce, advance your career, or transfer to a four-year college or university.

The goal of the program is to prepare unemployed, underemployed, previously incarcerated persons, and homeless adults for careers in the foodservice industry. The 14-week Culinary Curriculum covers all facets of work in a professional kitchen. The program includes "hands-on" training instructed by an ACF Culinary Coordinator.
Maintains a statewide system of apprenticeship training including registration and certification. Program assists employers in developing training programs, providing technical assistance and customer service to existing programs and registering qualified applicants for program participation.

Community College providing young adults exiting the school divisions and adults already out of school with opportunities to acquire independent living, self-advocacy and employment skills in an integrated college environment. The program is sponsored by various community agencies.

The program provides numerous careers-technical education classes for students ages 16 through 99 living in Richmond and surrounding areas. Off street parking is provided and program is accessible for the handicapped.

Occupation Specific Job Training
Vocational program for high school students and adults. Offers: auto collision repair, automotive technician, diesel mechanics, small engine repair, carpentry, masonry, electricity, computer technology, cosmetology, criminal justice, welding, graphic arts, LPN, dental assistance, pharmacy assistance, pre-vocational program (for 9th grade only). Offers free basic skills instruction to adult students,18 and older, living in the counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, and Tazewell in Virginia. Programs are designed to meet the needs of adults who have not completed high school. Classes are offered in Adult Basic Education/Pre-GED and GED preparation. All classes are free and are conveniently located throughout the region. Offer several certification classes including CNA, Welding, Paraprofessional and ServSafe. Also offer workforce preparation classes, financial literacy, computer skills and the National Career Readiness Certificate.

The ACE Center at Highland Springs prepares students for employment and further education. One or two year block courses in skill-based programs are offered to Henrico County students to prepare them for job entry skills.
Apprenticeship program offering an opportunity to learn the shipyard trades through on the job training as well as classroom training.
Provides vocational and technical education as well as continuing education courses to Tazewell residents. Offers job skills preparation: resume writing, job applications, how to locate a job, interviewing skills, getting and keeping a job. Provides a review of basic math and English skills.
Provides vocational education to students. Offers some continuing education to adults and the community at large. Provides GED options. Offers the following course offerings: cosmetology, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, computer networking hardware operations, culinary arts, practical nursing, welding, building trades, masonry, graphics imaging technology, electricity and cabling, horticulture, manufacturing systems, marketing, collision repair technology, and automotive servicing technology. Night classes are offered in various courses according to demand.
Services are provided for students in grades 7-12 to prepare students for employment and continued education and training for careers in many fields. Co-curricular student organization provide opportunities for students to develop leadership, personal growth and career success.
