Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) is an evidence-based strength, balance and fitness program for adults 65 and older. Performing exercises that improve strength, balance and fitness are the single most important activity that adults can do to stay active and reduce their chances of falling. The entire curriculum of activities in the SAIL Program can help improve strength and balance, if done regularly.

The Child Care Office licenses day care facilities; monitors their compliance with local child care ordinances, state standards, and regulations ( Arlington Child Care Center Regulation & Family Day Home Regulation); and provides education and training for providers of child care. Falls Prevention includes two programs: Falls Talk and A Matter of Balance. Falls Talk offers one-on-one interaction with a trained facilitator to help increase an individual's ability to prevent falls, to manage falls if they occur, and to become aware of fall threats (such as personal traits or circumstances that could cause a fall). It is open to individuals 50 years and older and is provided at the consumer's home or via telephone. A Matter of Balance classes help participants view falls and the fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals for increasing activity, and change their environments to reduce fall risk factors. Child Care Aware of Virginia offer access to professional training opportunities through regional resource centers, partner affiliates and online at the Virginia Training Academy. Also offer free consultation services to child care providers via telephone, online, on-site, or via printed resources. This includes guidance on topics such as child development, child care regulations, quality enhancement, safety planning, family engagement, nutrition, accreditation, and more.

Services Include: - intensive case management - coordination of care - Pack 'N Plays - education about prenatal care, birthing, infant care, parenting and community resources. Free child safety seats and booster seats are also available.
