A free service of Warren Memorial Hospital, the community sharps disposal safely disposes of used medical sharps such as needles, syringes and lancets, reducing risk to families and waste management and landfill staff. The hospital distributes new sharps containers to local residents at no cost. The containers are made of rigid, puncture-resistant plastic, with a lid that can be sealed when the container is full. They are labeled to remind participants to return the full container to the hospital for disposal and not to put it in their regular household trash. Participants may bring their full containers to designated drop-off containers in the Emergency Department waiting area or in the hallway near the Laboratory on the first floor.
Offer free medical equipment to the public which has been donated to LACIL. Equipment is sanitized and matched up with what consumer needs as per a doctor's description.
The ALS Association seeks to discover the cause and cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) through dedicated research while providing patient support, information/education for health care professionals and the general public, and advocacy for ALS research and health concerns.
