This program provides immunizations to children and adults, the primary focus is to increase immunization levels among ages 0-2. Adults routine and some limited international travel immunizations available.
Provides pregnancy testing; all required childhood immunizations are free of charge. Other women's health services include birth control, pap smears, breast and annual exams. Child safety seats are free to income-eligible families.

Adult Immunizations for disease prevention and foreign travel are available at each office. The Virginia Vaccines For Children Program provides the vaccines necessary for children from birth to 18 years of age to protect against childhood illnesses. Those required for children entering school for the first time are free. Fees for other vaccines are based on a sliding scale for eligible children.
Provides childhood immunizations for measles, rubella, mumps, polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, HIB, and hepatitis B. Provides consultation and some immunizations for overseas travel. All immunizations are done at the Lynchburg Helath Department.

Provides screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of all persons exposed to specific disease; tuberculosis, STD's, HIV/AIDS, food borne illness and more. Information is given regarding prevention from exposure, recognizing symptoms and obtaining treatment. Tuberculin skin test, free in some instances, chest x-rays, evaluation, monitoring of TB cases and contacts are provided. An anonymous HIV Counseling and Testing Clinic is offered. Information on medication and other assistance available for low income persons. Immunizations provided for flu, influenza, pneumonia vaccines, and information State required immunizations for children also available at no charge.

Other services include information on communicable diseases, investigations of suspected disease outbreaks, and preventive treatment for certain diseases. Outbreak investigations can be for suspected food or waterborne diseases, bioterrorist events, and contagious diseases spread to humans by either animals or other persons.
