Fairfax County Health Department provides pre-travel consultations and many immunizations that are recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) prior to international travel for adults and children.

New River Health District offers all childhood vaccines (diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, HPV, haemophilus influenzae B (HIB), and hepatitis B) and adult vaccines such as tetanus, diphtheria, hepatitis B, influenza, meningococcal, and pneumonia. The Virginia Vaccines For Children Program provides the vaccines necessary for children from birth to 18 years of age to protect against childhood illnesses. Those required for children entering school for the first time are free. Fees for other vaccines are based on a sliding scale for eligible children.
