Southwest Virginia Child Development Clinic offers a multidisciplinary team approach for the evaluation of children and youth from birth to 21 years, suspected of having developmental delays and/or disabilities from our twelve county, three city area. The process involves testing, assessing, and making a diagnosis. We will make referrals and recommendations as needed to address the needs of our children and their families. Field clinics are conducted on a limited basis within the region. Diagnostic Evaluations are performed for the following: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism, Developmental delays, Mental Retardation, Behavioral/Emotional Disorders, Learning Problems, and other developmental disorders or disabilities.

Provides general pediatric care, preventive care, special education evaluations and acute care. Also acts as a referral center, appointment only, made to over 50 specialty clinics held at UVA Medical Center.
Infants and children are provided periodic comprehensive medical examinations, immunizations to prevent childhood infectious diseases, developmental screenings, lead screening, parental education regarding nutrition, safety, and health, and referrals to other agencies. Case management services are offered to high-risk infants and children.
Provides pregnancy testing; all required childhood immunizations are free of charge. Other women's health services include birth control, pap smears, breast and annual exams. Child safety seats are free to income-eligible families.

Designed to follow the neurological and development progress of high risk infants cared for in the Intensive Care Nursery at Virginia Baptist Hospital. A diagnostic clinic - referrals are made for infant education and therapies. Also take referrals from Pediatricians, Health Dept., Infant programs, etc.
Specialty clinics available upon referral for children needing evaluation and follow up in the following areas: orthopedics, hearing impairment, eye imbalance, neurology, cardiology, diabetes, urology, pediatric surgery, hemophilia, cystic fibrosis. A sliding scale fee is applied, based on income.

KidMed provides after-hours care for ill and injured children, teens, and young adults, ages newborn to 25, at times when their pediatrician is unavailable. The office is open evenings, weekends and holidays, 365 days a year. No appointment is necessary. ****Do not provide primary care services such as routine well-child checks and routine immunizations.****
Part of Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, the Brook Road Pavilion is home to pediatric long-term care, therapy services, dentistry and a sleep center.
Provide comprehensive pediatric care to infants, children, and adolescents from newborns to 21 years of age.
Offers pediatric physical, speech and occupational therapy for children, infants through adolescents. Provides infant screening services.

Physicals required for school entry are provided to those indigent children without any other resource. This includes a consultation with a nurse, blood check, physical examinations and vaccines as needed. Referrals to Medicaid and FAMIS, a state funded insurance program are provided.
