Offers low cost spay/neuter services. By offering these services, we are reducing the amount of unwanted animals in our community, thereby decreasing the number of animals that enter the shelters each year.

Richmond Animal League (RAL) has been committed to saving the lives of animals and finding loving homes for pets. RAL works with area shelters to provide temporary housing, medical treatment, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and loving care to tens of thousands of pets who were then adopted into new homes.

Adoption Center provides a safe haven for homeless pets until they go to their forever homes. All Adoption Center animals have an examination, vaccinations, tests and parasite treatment upon arrival. They are spayed/neutered and microchipped.
Assists in finding homes for abandoned dogs and cats. In cooperation with area veterinarians, we share the cost of spaying and neutering these animals. We also help provide emergency veterinary care for ill or injured abandoned animals.
Richmond Animal Care & Control (RACC) is an open admission public shelter. RACC provides humane care for stray, injured, lost, abused, and abandoned pets. The Animal Control staff investigates animal cruelty, enforces humane laws, and issues pet licenses. RACC has pets available for adoption.

A group of volunteers providing regular open visitation hours to the public in hopes of increasing the chances that the shelter animals of Giles County will be adopted instead of euthanized. The Giles County Animal Shelter is under jurisdiction of Giles County Sheriff Department. Volunteers at the shelter at the invitation of the Giles County Board of Supervisors, the Sheriff's Dept and Giles County Animal Control. Offers low cost spay/neuter and placement services for pets. Giles County Animal Shelter Call the shelter directly at 540-921-2053. The physical address for the Giles County Animal Shelter is 678 Green Hollow Rd, Pearisburg, Virginia 24136. The shelter is open Monday-Saturday 12pm-4pm or by appointment with an Animal Control Officer. Officers may be paged through their dispatch by calling 540-921-3842. Adoptions during the week are done by appointment only.

The Animal Shelter is the physical facility servicing lost, abandoned, stray and surrendered pets in Loudoun County.
Provides care to stray, unwanted and injured animals and placement into new homes. Educates the public on proper pet owner responsibilities. Operates a no-kill animal shelter.
Provides animal shelter services including adoptions, lost and found, requests for literature, reports of cruelty and injuries that we direct to animal control; educational activities including informal activities, low cost spay/neuter, wildlife referral, disaster services and the presentation of movies, filmstrip, etc., to school classes. Works with disaster relief agencies (Red Cross, CAFV, Focus, Contact, to house animals for clients needing help with their pets.

The goal is to place the animals in a home which is appropriate based on the animal's needs, temperament, where it will reside, etc. as well as the applicant's history, experience, family, lifestyle, yard, housing situation, employment, other animals, etc. which affect the long-term health and safety of the animal under consideration. In addition, there may be other considerations which are animal-specific that will impact the animal's placement such as the animal's energy level and need for fencing, whether the animal has been socialized with small children and/or other animals, etc
Places animals in permanent responsible homes. Offers reduced fee spay/neuter services.
Provides required services and public education relating to domesticated animals.
Receives stray and owner relinquished animals from Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Botetourt County and the Town of Vinton and is an open intake facility. Primarily handles stray animals picked up by the Animal Control Officers employed by the municipalities, but also accepts strays that are found, and animals owned, by citizens of the municipalities served. Does NOT have a veterinarian on staff and is unable to provide medical care for pets owned by the public. If a pet is ill or injured, please visit a personal veterinarian. Has an adoption program, works with rescue organizations and has a foster program.
Provide shelter and care for companion animals in our community. Public clinic offers low-cost spaying and neutering, wellness visits and vaccines, illness visits and treatments for individuals with income Support wildlife conservation and triage injured wildlife,provide guidance to the public regarding wildlife rehabilitation. Humane Education hosts tours and virtual programs throughout the year for children ages 6 and up.
Provides placement of unwanted pets into responsible, caring permanent homes and counsels owners in transition. Provides assistance and referrals for behavior and health problems and dog obedience. Accepts all stray and unwanted animals from Arlington County and City of Falls Church.
