Richmond Animal Care & Control (RACC) is an open admission public shelter. RACC provides humane care for stray, injured, lost, abused, and abandoned pets. The Animal Control staff investigates animal cruelty, enforces humane laws, and issues pet licenses. RACC has pets available for adoption.

Loving Spay and Neuter Clinic offers low cost spay + neuter services for owned pets, rescue organizations, and municipal shelters with no geographical restrictions. Will also provide some reduced vaccinations, tests, and microchips when the spay or neuter surgery is performed.
Committed to ending companion animal overpopulation through providing high quality, low cost spay/neuter services. Mission is to end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals in the Shenandoah Valley. The program serves all owners of cats and dogs regardless of place of residence or income. Client must schedule an appointment for their companion animal prior to surgery. Vaccinations are only given when the animal is here for surgery. Clinic will provide FREE transport for your dog or cat for spay/neuter services. An appointment is required.

Offer a wide range of services: dental, diagnostic, ear infections, eye infections, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, heartworm treatments, surgical procedures, and prescriptions, including Frontline and Heartgard, at affordable prices.

Our Robins-Starr Humane Center, Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital and Smoky’s Spay & Neuter Clinic are operated by a team of staff members dedicated to providing care and treatment to the homeless pets awaiting adoption and facilitating lifesaving programs and services for our community.
Provides a hospital for native wildlife, promotes teaching the world to care about, and to care for wildlife and the environment. ACCREDITED BY: Respective Veterinary Organizations
A full-service veterinary hospital providing care at a reduced cost to pets in the Greater Richmond region. Provides primarily outpatient services to dogs and cats. Hospitalization and other non-routine services may be provided on a case-by-case basis. This hospital is not an emergency facility.
Provides low-cost and subsidized spay and neuter for the pets of households unable to afford the surgeries. Also offers referrals for low-cost area vets and other neutering programs.
Provides animal shelter services including adoptions, lost and found, requests for literature, reports of cruelty and injuries that we direct to animal control; educational activities including informal activities, low cost spay/neuter, wildlife referral, disaster services and the presentation of movies, filmstrip, etc., to school classes.
