Provides co-parenting classes for parents or other custodial individuals going through change in family life. This class teaches parents how to manage conflict and how to effectively parent when living in two separate households. Separation, divorce, economic changes, and the addition of a new spouse can all bring added stress to two parents who are trying to parent children from separate homes. This class gives valuable reminders, simple tools for managing conflict within the family, and information about your children's developmental needs.
Families First is a home visiting program for expectant and parenting first-time mothers. Family support workers provide regular home visits to assist mothers in nurturing and caring for their children and themselves. Family support workers share information, videos, and activities about childbirth preparation, child health and development, parenting and parent/child interaction and local resources.
Counseling services are offered for all ages and for a variety of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, post traumatic stress disorder, etc. Based on the wraparound process, therapists and family care coordinators focus on recognizing family strengths which can be used to build the solutions that will work for each family. Telehealth options also available if preferred.
Provides assistance and support to families and educators of children with special needs in Montgomery County.
A program utilizes parent educators to develop parents' parenting skills, teach them about child development, and connect them with important community resources.
Parent Education and Family Stabilization Courses for Married and Unmarried Parents/Guardians/Grandparents
Baby Care is a home based program that offers family support by registered nurses for expectant women and families with children up to age 2. Services provided include parenting education, support, and referral to community resources as well as assessment for aged appropriate growth and development. Able to speake multiple languages via interpreter line.
Support program for new parents that will strengthen parenting skills and increase the likelihood that all children in this community have a healthy start and enter school ready to learn. All services are free and voluntary.
Community Programs encompass all of SCAN's prevention programs and initiatives that are at the community, state and organizational level. These programs are focused on the prevention of child maltreatment through the advancement of protective factors and trauma informed approaches in organizations, communities and systems.

Help parents develop essential leadership skills for engaging and collaborating with others in order to acquire positive outcomes for their children's academic, social and economic futures.
Offers parenting skills classes, usually in sessions of 4-7 weeks and targeted towards parents of a particular age group.
Works with groups of parents and children to increase parenting skills by building healthy relationships through increased empathy and self-esteem. Provides intensive in-home family support services for at-risk first-time parents, beginning prenatally and continuing until the child is five years of age. The goals of the program are to strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect through services designed to: improve maternal and child health, facilitate healthy child development, build constructive and positive parenting and assist parents with the assessment and identification of appropriate community resources. Healthy Families America is a national program model designed to help expectant and new parents get their children off to a healthy start. Families participate voluntarily in the program and receive home visiting and referrals from trained staff. The program has three goals: to promote positive parenting, to encourage child health and development and to prevent child abuse and neglect.
Partnered with The Post Institute to develop a curriculum for a six week parenting skills development class. Classes will be offered to counties/cities in which TMC is already providing in-home services.
Infant and Maternal Health program provide parents with the education, community resources and tangible support they need to help their families thrive. Free and voluntary home visiting program designed to provide a research-based, long-term support system for the parents of children ages 0-5.
Provides for intense home visiting and support services for first-time moms, utilizing a nationally successful, evidence-based model developed by the Nurse-Family Partnership. Program allows nurses to deliver the support first-time moms need to have a healthy pregnancy, become knowledgeable and responsible parents, and provide their babies with the best possible start in life.
Provides an information and referral source for needed services that are available in the community, provides training for parents, and promotes an understanding of the special education process in our schools, provides support and information groups for families and educators of children with special needs, maintain a book and video library, promotes a working relationship between parents, educators, and our community resources.

The Children's Museum Family Engagement team supports caregivers through partnerships in the community as well as activities in the museums. The team focuses on core skills for school readiness using The Basics, advocates for children with disabilities and supports caregivers with information and strategies about learning through play. The act of play is essential to a child's development, contributing to their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. With plenty of print and digital resources, along with museum-based learning experiences, The Children's Museum Family Engagement programs seek to provide learning for the whole family, engaging all caregivers in the power of play.
The Parent Resource Center provides outreach services (support, information, resources, training, education, and special services) that will assist Richmond Public Schools' families in helping their children succeed academically and become contributing citizens in a global society.
The Expectant Mother Program's purpose is to not only provide traditional case management, but also educational, emotional and everyday support specifically for pregnant and new mothers. Medical attention will be coordinated and arranged with local health facilities that will provide general and prenatal care. One-on-one counseling services will include counseling services with a psychologist and professional counselor. Parenting Support Groups that utilize evidence-based parenting support groups will be provided as the woman prepares for child birth and may also include other family members for navigation and co-parenting services.

Programs offers: Healthy Families is a home based family support for expectant and new parents and individualized parenting education; to include support and referral. Services available for pregnant women, infants and children up to age five. Also assists with community resources as well as devlopmental screenings and strategies to help babies reach milestones. In addition, program offers Infant Play Group where babies up to twelve months growth/development information, socialization with other parents.
Healthy Families West Piedmont home visitors support parents as they establish nurturing parent-child relationships, develop positive parenting skills, provide safe homes, and learn to support healthy child development. Families work to reduce risks and build resiliency so that they can raise healthy children who are ready to learn.
