Neighborhood centers offer a rich variety of recreational activities including the classic games of pool, ping pong, basketball, foosball, and four-square as well as skill development in special topics, arts and cultural explorations, and academic enrichment. Neighborhood centers offer activities for all ages - After School programming, Fifty Plus programming, family meal nights, Teen Scene, summer day camps, social activities for the neighborhood, and city-wide tournaments.

Offers a range of services and activities for both residents and visitors. 17 parks provide the perfect setting for everything from picnics and fishing to canoeing, kayaking, and playful afternoons with the kids. With over 40 miles of scenic trails, there’s plenty of room to walk, hike, run, or mountain bike your way through the heart of Lynchburg. Our nine recreation centers are hubs of activity, hosting group programs, celebrations, community meetings, and outdoor fun. Plus, Parks and Recreation not only supports events for outside organizations but also brings the community together with our own special events.

Provides overnight facilities for conferences, retreats, and camping. Environmental education programs for school groups, special programs for youth at risk, and 4-H youth camping is offered during the months of June-August. A rental facility for private picnics is also available on weekends.

To provide a safe and well-maintained park for you to enjoy.
Camp Baker offers a day summer camp, weekend and emergency respite, for children and adults with disabilities. The camp is located on a 22-acre wooded site in Chesterfield County, VA. Buildings and parking areas are handicap accessible. Year-round and seasonal recreation and training activities include swimming, music, hiking, arts and crafts, horseback riding and canoeing.
Operates manned and unmanned parks and several historical sites throughout Loudoun County, as well as a nature preserve.
Princess Anne Community Recreation Center offers cardio equipment, weight room, indoor pool, pool ramp & wheelchair, group fitness room, gymnasium, sportwall, racquetball courts, dance room, adult billiards, youth game room, indoor play structure, locker rooms & showers, and meeting rooms. Recreational space is located adjacent to Strawbridge Elementary School and Princess Anne Area Library.

Operates ten parks, a gymnasium, and a museum. Activities supported at the parks include walking, picnicking, camping, fishing, hunting, tennis, boating, baseball, basketball, football, soccer, fitness trails, playing, exploring local heritage, aerobics, swimming, duck feeding, and relaxing.

Offers tent and cabin camping sites for individuals, families and groups, with and without utility hook-ups, showers, kitchen and restroom facilities, swimming pool. Most require advance permit. Camping is limited to 14 days per year per individual.
Offers a special needs camp to provide therapeutic activities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or physical disabilities. Day camps and Therapeutic Horseback Riding are offered to adults and children. Some of the activities campers participate in are: horseback riding, arts & crafts, games, animal care, hayrides, nature walks, gardening, cooking and picnics. A wheelchair accessible tree house is also available. Each Summer Day Camp session is a week long and runs from 9:00AM-3:00PM each day, except on Fridays the camp ends at 2:00PM. There are three camp weeks each summer.

The Henry County Parks & Recreation Dept Senior Section is to fulfill all contractual requirements as a subcontractor of the Southern Area Agency on Aging by providing needed services to residents of Henry County who are sixty years of age and older, frail, and in the greatest economic and social need.

Serves seniors, adults, and children. Provides parks, recreation facilities and programs that are accessible and cost effective. Program areas include adult athletics, aquatics, environmental education, outdoor adventure, outdoor recreation events, personal enrichment, travel, youth athletics, and youth development. Offers online classes for adults interested in lifelong learning and continuing education. After-School P.L.A.Y. provides a place for children to get homework assistance, enrichment activities, structured recreation, and general after school care. The department administers the VHD Summer Food Program, a service that provides a healthy breakfast and lunch.

Offers a multitude of parks and recreational activities throughout the year for residents of Buena Vista.
Provides a private, summer residential camp for boys and girls ages 6 through 16 serving to stimulate creative minds, build healthy bodies, and challenge adventurous souls, recognizing and providing for each individual camper.
