Camp Shenandoah is owned and operated by the Virginia Headwaters (former Stonewall Jackson Area) Council, BSA, and is open for year-round camping.
Promotes the creation of social, recreational, and vocational programs designed to meet needs of individuals with autism. Currently, activities offered include monthly socials, a day camp over spring break, and Camp Gonnawannagoagain, a summer day camp experience for children and teens with autism.
Provides a Federal Agency to protect and manage 190,000 acres of National Forest land and provide recreation opportunities. In the Northwest Region of Virginia, the USDA Forest Service also has offices in Edinburg, Harrisonburg, and Warm Springs. Please see the web site for more details. Neighborhood centers offer a rich variety of recreational activities including the classic games of pool, ping pong, basketball, foosball, and four-square as well as skill development in special topics, arts and cultural explorations, and academic enrichment. Neighborhood centers offer activities for all ages - After School programming, Fifty Plus programming, family meal nights, Teen Scene, summer day camps, social activities for the neighborhood, and city-wide tournaments.

RHCDC offers Preschool for children ages three through Pre-K and After-School Care, Summer Camp and Drop-In Care programs for school age students in the cities of Roanoke and Salem, Roanoke County and local private schools. National forest recreation facilities, campground, hiking, swimming, boating, picnicking, hunting, sight seeing. Provides up to date information on public demands, perceptions, values, and benefits from outdoor recreation, wilderness, and urban forests and describe how local community conditions and demographic shifts will affect these resources. Office is wheelchair accessible; however, outdoor areas are not.

Provides recreation areas, recreational facilities, recreation/leisure instruction, and recreational activities to the residents of the City of Charlottesville and surrounding areas.
Provides a Summer Playground Camp that begins in June for children 4-12 years old. The programs are at the Elkton, John C. Myers, John Wayland, Wilbur Pence, McGaheysville, Mountain View, Peak View, South River, Lacey Spring Elementary schools. The Summer Playground Camp meets June through August weekdays, Monday - Friday 7:30AM-5:30PM. Also provides a Little School program designed to promote the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of all children in a safe and nurturing environment. This learning environment recognizes that all children develop at their own special rate and emphasis is placed on this individual growth and each child's special needs. Little School meets September through May, 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thrusday from 9:30AM-12:00PM for children ages 3, 4 and 5 years old.
The park includes a one-acre 19th century African American cemetery. Of the more than 20 burials on this site, six identified headstones remain and are in their original location. The park was designed to co-exist with the original landscape of the cemetery and preserves the interesting and varied plant life on this site.
Provides enhanced regional recreational opportunities for the Virginia counties of Augusta and Rockingham and the cities of Harrisonburg and Staunton. Provides a private, summer residential camp for boys and girls ages 6 through 16 serving to stimulate creative minds, build healthy bodies, and challenge adventurous souls, recognizing and providing for each individual camper.
