Princess Anne Community Recreation Center offers cardio equipment, weight room, indoor pool, pool ramp & wheelchair, group fitness room, gymnasium, sportwall, racquetball courts, dance room, adult billiards, youth game room, indoor play structure, locker rooms & showers, and meeting rooms. Recreational space is located adjacent to Strawbridge Elementary School and Princess Anne Area Library.

The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests contain nearly 1.8 million acres; one of the largest blocks of public land in the eastern United States. The forests include 1,664,110 acres in Virginia, 123,629 acres in West Virginia, and 961 acres in Kentucky. The forest headquarters is the Forest Supervisor's Office in Roanoke, Virginia. The forests include the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and seven Ranger Districts.

Provides specialized and adapted recreational programs to people with disabilities in the following categories: developmental disabilities, visual impairments, psychiatric disabilities, and head injury related disabilities. Offers a variety of socialization, skill building, recreational, and leisure opportunities. Also provides classes and opportunities for individuals interested in sign language communication. Transportation is provided in some programs.

Offers year-round recreation activities for youth and adults.

Special Olympics Virginia is a year-round program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through work in sports, health education and community building, Special Olympics is addressing inactivity, injustice, intolerance and social isolation by encouraging and empowering people with intellectual disabilities which leads to a more welcoming and inclusive society.

To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy body, mind and spirit for all. The YMCA offers activities and programs for people of all ages. No one is turned away because they cannot pay. Programs provided are wellness programs include cardiovascular conditioning and strength training, aerobic and yoga classes, water fitness, swim lessons and programs for active older adults.

Works year round hosting a variety of youth and adult recreational opportunities. Programs include sports clinics, youth sports leagues, road races, summer day camps, classes and more. Is responsible for the maintenance of County athletic fields and parks and manages reservations for picnic shelters and pool events.

Senior centers offer classes, health and wellness programs, computer and Internet access, trips and tours, and opportunities to socialize with others and stay connected with their community.

Provides before and after school child care in all elementary schools in Fauquier county. FCCC also provides a weekly summer camp for children in Fauquier and neighboring counties.

Provides a recreation center which offers a variety of education and recreation based activities which include before school, after school, teen/adult, senior citizens, anti-drug outreach, special events, general recreation, outdoor recreation, and tiny tots programs.

The Department's Senior Adult Division is operated from the Douglass Senior Center. The programming for the senior adult is centered around the theme of fun, fitness, and fellowship. Classes are available in arts & crafts, educational areas, wellness, nutrition and other topics of interest to the senior adult. The center offers a well-equipped wellness room with professional exercise equipment, two lounges, kitchen, ceramic studio and billiards room.

Develops parks, recreation facilities and programs of leisure activities for adults and youth in Marion and the surrounding area. Programs include: men's softball; women's softball; girls' softball, boys' and girls' tee-ball, boys' and girls' basketball, youth coed soccer, women's volleyball, boys' football, and girls' cheerleading.

Provides city wide youth and adult athletic programs for males and females ages 5 to adult. Programs operate January through November. Community Youth Activities include softball, baseball, football, soccer, basketball, track and field, and special events.

Parks and Recreation provides specialized services for individuals with disabilities including social clubs, family-centered programming, camps, adapted classes and leisure education.

Facilitates maintenance of the Appalachian Trail by Appalachian Trail Clubs and other volunteers. This agency does have a list of Appalachian Trail Clubs and will refer.

Town of Wytheville Parks and Recreation offers recreational, fitness, aquatic and community based programs along with pass plans for the Wytheville Community Center which has an indoor pool, indoor climbing wall, youth/teen center, cardio/weight room, racquetball courts and gymnasium.

A social drop-in center (no appointment needed) for mental health consumers. Provides a safe, consumer run alternative for the purpose of socialization, self help, advocacy, recreation and education. Operates primarily during the time traditional providers of mental-health services are closed. Employs consumers of mental health services as staff with the belief that they can provide services for individuals, making their own lives more productive and meaningful, while enriching the lives of others. Sponsors support groups such as the Peer Support Group, Veteran's Support Group, Wellness Recovery Action Plan Workshops, Codependents Anonymous, Music Group, and Dual Recovery Anonymous; a 12-step program for people with both substance abuse and mental health issues. Provides activities such as bingo, chess and checkers, cook outs, karaoke, holiday activities and more. Veterans Group on Mondays at 1pm.

Offers a fun, educational and caring environment for children ages 5 to 10 and teens age 11 to 14. Extra activities include swimming, snacks, basketball, computers, sports, arts & crafts and field trips.
