A support group provides an opportunity for family members, caregivers, friends, and/or persons with dementia to meet and develop a mutual support system that will help maintain the health and well being of its members. Exchanging practical information on caregiving problems and solutions, sharing ways of adapting to the continuing stress of coping. Sharing feelings, needs and concerns in a supportive, non-threatening and non-judgmental atmosphere, providing social contact for family members who feel isolated by constant, continual caregiving. Group will be for Caregivers and/or person with Early-stage Alzheimer's or dementia. The group will be divided with two. Either caregiver or person with dementia may attend or both.
Offers support groups for women, men and families that live with bleeding disorders (either personally affected or have someone in their family with one).
Support groups, led by both peers and/or professional helping professionals, for caregivers and individuals living with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia
Educates the public, patient, and physicians about diabetes management. Certified Diabetes Educators provide educational classes to Diabetes patients. In addition, offers one-on-one nutritional, gestational, meter, and pump education. Offers a free Pre-Diabetes Program. We are an ADA-recognized program. Also offers monthly support groups for insulin pump users and Type 2 Diabetes.

LupusConnect is an online community where people affected by lupus can engage with others to share experiences, find emotional support and discuss practical ways to live and cope with the disease.
An extended support group for heart patients; a group of people who have experienced first hand, similar heart problems and are grateful for the miracle that has allowed their hearts to be mended. Visits also made to individuals who have had an MI (heart attack), stents, ptca; people who have heart problems in general. MOTO: It's great to be alive - and to help others. MEETING LOCATION: Lynchburg General Hospital in First Colony Conference Room 1. Meeting 4th Thursday each month at 7PM.

Guest Speakers are invited periodically to address topics of interest to the group. Families are welcome. Family Support Groups program gives patients and their families a place to go where they can share information, education and feelings in a comfortable and caring environment.
Provides education and support to people affected by cancer. The Cancer Support Helpline staff are available to counsel cancer patients or loved ones who are struggling to cope with a cancer diagnosis.
