The Crisis Intervention Center (CIC) provides behavioral healthcare services in a community-based setting to individuals of all ages experiencing a psychiatric crisis. The primary goal of the CIC is to offer comprehensive crisis stabilization services in an outpatient setting. The center is open 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Psychological assessment is provided for children, adolescents and adults. These services assist with diagnostic clarification and treatment planning for referred individuals. Referrals are made by local industries, health care providers, legal services, Department of Children Services, Department of Human Services, law enforcement, emergency agencies, and school systems.

Services provided: 24-Hour Crisis Care Addiction Services Bereavement Services Child and Adolescent Services Counseling Services Inpatient Treatment Outpatient Substance Abuse Programs Outpatient Services - Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at Sentara RMH Medical Center offers individual, group, and family therapy, stress management and education in an outpatient treatment setting. The program offers the structure of a psychiatric program while allowing patients to go home in the evening to remain connected with their family, friends and other support systems. PHP services are provided for up to six hours per day, five days per week. Treatment in the PHP can shorten a hospital stay or provide the intervention necessary to avoid hospitalization.
