In partnership with Henrico County the Crisis Receiving Center (CRC) at St. Joseph’s Villa offers immediate help for youth in need of emergency behavioral health care, and their families. The program serves as an alternative to hospital emergency rooms, with the goal of diverting hospitalization and allowing youth to be treated in their own community. Individuals can stay at the CRC for up to 23 hours, and in that time will be linked to the next appropriate level of care. The multidisciplinary team of nurses, clinicians and mental health professionals makes connections to community resources and service providers to ensure continuity of treatment. This collaborative transition process focuses on supporting the individual’s recovery and successful reintegration into their community or ongoing care setting. Youth who would benefit from extended out-of-home care and treatment can be transitioned to the Villa's adjacent Crisis Stabilization Unit for continued support.
