The Standard for Clinicians' Interview in Psychiatry (SCIP) is a method of assessment of psychopathology for adults. It is designed to be administered by clinicians and includes the SCIP manual and the SCIP interview.

Emergency Services are unscheduled and sometimes scheduled crisis intervention, stabilization, and referral assistance provided over the telephone and face-to-face, if indicated, 24 hours per day and seven days per week to people seeking such services for themselves or others. Services may include walk-ins, home visits, and jail interventions. Emergency Services may include preadmission screening activities associated with admission to a state hospital or training center. Outpatient counseling services are brief in nature, often using "solution focused" or other brief models of behavior modification. Outpatient services are provided at four different locations: Main Center (adjacent to SWCC), Tazewell County Satellite Office (Tazewell), Russell County Satellite Office (Lebanon), and at the Buchanan County Satellite Office (Grundy). The Behavioral Health Clinic provides mental health counseling (group, and one-on-one ), substance use services (including Medication Assistant Therapy for opioid addiction), medication management and evaluation, and psychiatric evaluations and assessments.

Provides a wide variety of clinical services for residents of the City of Lynchburg and the surrounding area. Both adults and children are offered individualized service options and specializations to meet their unique behavioral health needs. apid Access provides a comprehensive assessment to individuals seeking Behavioral Health services. Individuals are seen on a first come, first serve basis during Rapid Access hours and serves children, adolescents, and adults. Following an assessment, individuals may be referred to recommended community resources or scheduled for an appointment with a case manager or clinician depending on the individual’s specific needs.

Crisis services provides residents of Danville & Pittsylvania County, as well as those present in the area, with 24 hour a day crisis intervention to aid in the management of acute behavioral health problems. Also provides all prescreening evaluations for admission to state hospitals.
