Substance Use Services offers support to individuals and families experiencing alcohol and other drug-related problems. Gender specific treatment is offered - men's and women's teams. Priority populations include: * Pregnant women are offered an appointment within 48 hours of request for service. * Intravenous (IV) drug users are offered an appointment within 5 to 10 days. * People with HIV+/AIDS are offered an appointment within 5 to 10 days.

Substance Use Disorder Day Treatment
Provides an array of outpatient services for adults (18+) with substance abuse disorders. Services include Intensive Outpatient Program, Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT), Recovery Skills Group, Substance Use Case Management, Outpatient Therapy and Peer Recovery Services. Location also has The Within Reach Peer Resource Center. A free place for adults recovering from mental health and/or substance use to access Peer Support, learn and practice recovery skills and exercise choice and decision-making skills, all in a safe and supportive environment. Certified Peer Recovery Specialists are on hand to share their lived experience in an open and non-judgmental atmosphere, through both group and individual peer support. Connect with others in recovery through groups, activities and one-on-one support. The center is open to anyone (you do not have to be a client of Northwestern) that wishes to receive group or individual Peer Support. It also offers the use of the computer lab, T.V., movies, wi-fi, video games, books and endless resources for all recovery paths.

Substance Use Disorder Day Treatment
Provides 24 hour crisis intervention counseling and referral; pre-admission screening to determine need for hospitalization; court liaison for the involuntary commitment procedure; and initial contact for sexual assault victims. During the business day, this service provides a single source for determining placement through a variety of comprehensive assessment instruments. Based on the outcome of the screening, individuals may receive a clinical assessment, short-term counseling, and/or referrals to the appropriate level and intensity of treatment, either from BRBH or other community providers. Provide consumers a single point of entry to the agency, crisis response and assessment, case management, and therapeutic services designed for specific populations meeting our admission criteria. People with mental disabilities can receive a comprehensive assessment to determine their mental health, intellectual disability, and/or substance use services needs, and be referred to the services which best meet those needs. Services are designed to aid consumers in achieving their highest possible level of functioning.

Crisis Intervention
Health Brigade's Comprehensive Harm Reduction/Needle Exchange Program purpose is to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, and hepatitis C among persons that inject drugs, their families, and the larger community. Service includes the distribution of sterile and disposal of used hypodermic needles and syringes, education, referral to drug treatment, testing, and an array of other health services. Henrico Area Mental Health and Developmental Services provide substance abuse education and group treatment.

Supportive Substance Use Disorder Services
Provides a program to reduce effects of substance abuse in the lives of women and their families. Services include: AA information, referrals, case management, referrals and on-site child care for women in outpatient treatment, transportation to meetings and in-home resource counselors for pregnant women. Support and educational groups include: cover topics such as pregnancy and parenting, substance use and abuse, relationships, domestic violence, goal setting and self nurturing. Also provides first month's rent and deposit to all Project Link clients who can demonstrate the ability to financially maintain the domicile after it is secured.
Region Ten provides a wide array of substance use treatment that includes a comprehensive continuum of care to meet individual preferences and needs, as well as recommended levels of care. This continuum includes outpatient therapy (group and individual), case management, care coordination, intensive outpatient program, co-occurring treatment, peer support, and residential levels of care. These services are provided throughout Region Ten's sites and locations.

Therapeutic Substance Use Outpatient Treatment Services are designed to address the disease of addiction and related behavioral concerns that individuals experience throughout their lifetime. Horizon offers specialized program options for clients across the lifespan and their families, as early as age two. Offer community-based outpatient treatment options and residential recovery services to meet the individual needs of the client. Peer Recovery Support Specialists are embedded in our substance use disorder treatment programming. Peers are individuals with lived substance use and/or mental health experience who serve as role models, advocates, and support to those in treatment. Peers encourage pro-social behaviors and activities and assist clients with linkages to recovery resources. Peer support is essential to living with the disease of addiction, so we offer individual and group counseling sessions facilitated by Peer Recovery Support Specialists (PRSS) who have completed their peer certification. A helpline for adults who are residents of the State of Virginia and would like to talk about their opioid use. Offer individualized information, resources and referrals to treatment in the local area. aAlso offer audio recordings with mindfulness and meditation exercises to help manage any pain issues related to opioid use. Not meant to replace any counseling or therapy you may currently be using but can offer additional assistance. Anyone with questions is welcome to call for information. All consultations are completely confidential and provided at no cost.

RPSV serves adults across Northern Virginia with mental health, substance use, and homelessness issues. RPSV also offers virtual individual and group support Monday through Saturday. RPSV's services are all free and include connecting individuals to benefits (e.g., housing, health care), employment support, computer training, daily meals and snacks, therapeutic art programs, individual and group support programs, and much more. The programs are designed to help people in recovery from mental health, substance use, and homelessness issues to turn their pain into power to live the life of their dreams.

Peer Support Services
Provides an Opiate Recovery Program to those addicted to opiates. Individual and group therapy is provided. This treatment may include medication assisted treatment through contracts with local MAT providers. Those using opiates are a priority population and will be opened to services upon their request.
Hosts peer-to-peer support group, 12 step meetings in the natural setting of the farm environment. This holistic approach lends itself to peer-to-peer sharing and action-based results. These meetings empower veterans in their recovery from substance abuse (use) issues. Attendance of all meetings is confidential and your anonymity is respected amongst veterans attending.
