Provides a reception, a support group, a variety of workshops, and a newsletter. The S.A.F.E.(Sexual Assault Free Environment) program includes year-round activities designed to develop campus awareness and prevention of sexual assault. Continuing education courses, and workshops on career planning and assertive communication is available to the community and campus (with fees).

A private, nonprofit agency supported by federal, state and local funds. Helps with emergency services, education, rental assistance, energy efficiency and home improvement programs.
Provide Development and Diversion programs for at risk youth before the court, collaborate and partner with community agencies, and ensure ongoing continuum of services for youth and their families in the Chesapeake community.
The Beard Center provides community education on healthy aging and problems of aging. Several workshops and an annual summer conference are held each year for community members, professionals and students. Additionally the center directs both an undergraduate and graduate certificate programs for becoming a specialist in gerontology.

Provides a community-based grassroots membership organization of individuals in recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction, their families, friends and committed community supporters. SAARA's mission is to celebrate, support and advocate for resources and services for the prevention of and recovery from substance abuse and addiction. SAARA promotes social, educational, legal, research and health care resources and services that support accessible, effective and accountable addictions: prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery. Chapters are located statewide.
Supports local communities in developing plans and actions that will increase the numbers of children who begin kindergarten ready to read. Program's initiative is designed to provide resources, training and networking to early childhood development providers. The focus is on home based day care, private and faith based early child care providers and is funded by Square One.

The Committee is concerned with the quality of life available to citizens with disabilities. The Committee is dedicated to making city and private programs and services accessible to all citizens. To accomplish this task the Committee obtains and provides information to citizens as well as government agencies.
Supports policies that contribute to the elimination of racism. This includes but is not limited to policies that eliminate racial profiling, increase immigrant rights, retain and strengthen affirmative action, reduce hate crimes and result in increased education on racism and its elimination.
Provides a special interest organization promoting equal rights and employment opportunities for federally employed women. FEW is an organization concerned with improving employment opportunities for women in the federal government. It publishes a newsletter on career and training opportunities, changes in civil service policies and regulations, and other issues of concern. The pentagon I chapter also maintains a job opportunities and talent bank to inform women of available positions throughout the government in the Washington, D.C. area
