The Office of the Attorney General provides legal services to the Commonwealth's agencies, boards, commissions, colleges and universities. They are the Commonwealth's law firm, defending the interests of Virginians and Virginia government and also work with law enforcement throughout the Commonwealth to prepare for emerging public safety threats and to promote successful, secure communities.

Features many visitor amenities, including public restrooms, meeting rooms, an exhibit gallery and a cafe. Food is not allowed in the original 18th century portion of the Capitol. Commercial tour groups, school groups and the general public will enter the restored and expanded Capitol from a new entrance plaza near 10th and Bank streets. Private vehicles with disability tags are able to park and unload passengers on Bank Street between 9th and 10th streets, near the new public entrance. The new underground extension has wheelchair accessible restrooms, ramps and elevators. There is barrier free access from the new extension to the original 1788 Capitol and the 1906 legislative wings.
