Provides an elected, constitutional, law enforcement official. The office is responsible for the prosecution of all felony cases and all misdemeanor cases required by law or court order. The Office provides services which support the victims and witnesses involved in the various cases handled by the Office. In addition, the Office provides consumer protection assistance to residents of the County. The office prosecutes cases in all three courts. These courts are the Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court, General District Court and Circuit Court.

The Office of the Attorney General is the Commonwealth's law firm. The office is charged with providing advice to state agencies and the Governor; serving as consumer counsel for the people of the Commonwealth; defending criminal convictions on appeal to ensure that justice is served; and defending the laws of the Commonwealth when they are challenged on constitutional grounds.

Provides a chief prosecuting officer who is responsible for initiating charges, and prosecuting adults and juveniles who have been accused of felony and misdemeanor offenses. Looking into allegations of major fraud, organized criminal activity and corruption and unlawful conduct by public officials.
