Outreach services are provided by all Chesapeake Public Library (CPL) locations through the coordinated effort of the Outreach staff. Outreach services strive to create library engagement opportunities across Chesapeake, strengthen existing partnerships, create new partnerships, and increase the visibility of Library services.

General public library services are provided, such as the summer reading program, story hour, reference service, recreational reading, self improvement, and educational support. Faxes, copiers, public computers, and Wifi are available.
Offers current local and state law collection, along with the United States Code. Law Library materials may not be checked out, however, copy machines are available in the main section of the library. The cost is $0.25 per copy.
Provides and promotes within county fiscal guidelines library materials and services that meet the individual interests and needs of the residents of Fauquier County. Special emphasis is placed on providing current, high-demand, high-interests materials in a variety of formats for all ages and on providing collections and services that encourage children and young people to develop an interest in reading and learning. Braille Instruction

Offers library services free of charge to persons who are print disabled. These include persons who are physically disabled, visually disabled, hearing impaired or reading disabled. Resource Center services are provided to local school divisions to support education of visually impaired and blind children. Provides 8 affiliated sub regional libraries in public libraries in Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Roanoke, Staunton and Virginia Beach. Required playback equipment and accessories are also furnished. In addition, a variety of Resource Center services are provided to blind and visually impaired children including adaptive equipment, Braille and large print textbooks that are distributed throughout the State. The Ruth E. Lloyd Information Center (RELIC) is a special collection devoted to genealogy and local history with a focus on Virginia and Prince William County. Located at Central Library, RELIC is staffed the same hours as the rest of the library. Staff are trained to help customers locate information needed to trace their family history and to research persons, places and events associated with local history. The American Revolution and the Civil War as they relate to Virginia are of special interest.
Offers a diverse collection set in a small, friendly, and comfortable environment. Our material encompasses a wide range of non-fiction and fiction books, reports, audio cassettes, videotapes, and CD-ROMs for, by, or about women.
The Law Library provides access to legal and law-related information for research and the practice of law.
