A federally funded preschool program that provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, social-emotional and parent involvement services to eligible children and families in Loudoun County.
Offers preschool across the county for 4-year-old children through our Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) and Title I classes and for 3- and 4-year olds in the Head Start program.
Head Start and Early Head Start prepare children for success in school and in life by providing high-quality preschool, childcare, and family support to children ages six weeks to five years. Early Head Start also provides prenatal education to pregnant women.

Buchanan County Head Start operates center and home based options throughout Buchanan County, VA. Center based children receive breakfast, lunch, and snack daily. The home based option provides a home visitor who makes one weekly visit to the home. In addition, the children receive socialization activities twice a month. Children are provided lunch on socialization outings.

MHK will provide comprehensive child development services for children between the ages of three and five to the most vulnerable children and their families; including children with special needs and disabilities in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Parents are encouraged to attend Celebrations of Learning. These include a showcase of children’s learning opportunities throughout the year.

Also offers home based services to families and child care for infants and toddlers through Early Head Start. HRCAP Head Start is a federally funded early childhood pre-school program for over 900 three and four-year-old children of low-income families living in Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk and Portsmouth, Virginia. Comprehensive services for children and families are: Health, Education, Nutrition, Family Services, Mental Health/Disabilities, Community Family Partnerships, Parent Involvement, and Transportation for children residing in designated boundaries. The program provides services to disabled children, and some spaces may be reserved for over income families.
