The Center provides a full range of speech, language, and hearing services for individuals with communicative disorders. Evaluations and therapy treatments are administered by graduate student clinicians who are supervised by certified Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. As a teaching center, students and supervisory staff may observe sessions directly or through one-way observation windows. Clients may notify their clinician if they would prefer not to have student observers at a particular session.

Offers a civic group to assist the visually handicapped and hearing impaired with assistive devices, such as glasses and hearing aids. Must be able to demonstrate financial need for assistance in obtaining necessary eye examinations and/or glasses.

Offers a program whose primary purpose is to buy hearing aids and glasses and help residents of Augusta County receive free eye examinations. The Club also sends young people to diabetes camp. Other activities include donations to the VA School for the Deaf and Blind and the Salvation Army.

Provides an international service oriented civic club with emphasis on sight/hearing conservation. Provides assistive devices for hearing or sight impaired individuals who meet financial eligibility criteria. Also helps the needy obtain eye examinations. (Social Services also has applications for eye glasses)

he goal of the Virginia Early Hearing Detection and Intervention program is to screen infants, identify congenital hearing loss in children and to assure enrollment in intervention services. Infants who failed their initial hearing screen before hospital discharge should be screened for congenital Cytomegalovirus (cCMV). The Virginia Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program provides information and referral to families regarding newborn hearing screening, follow-up testing, and early intervention services.

The evaluation and treatment process is individualized, focusing on developing programs that meet individual and family needs. The Clinic values and desires the support and cooperation of significant others in the process of treating communication needs.

Provides an international service orientated civic club with emphasis on sight/hearing conservation, drug awareness and diabetes awareness. Assists the needy with eyeglasses, eye examinations and hearing aids.

Provides speech-language evaluations and treatment services to individuals with known or suspected speech and/or hearing impairments. Also provides hearing evaluations, hearing aid evaluations, central auditory processing testing and speech and hearing screenings for adults and children.

Adults may get free eye exams and glasses by contacting the Culpeper County Social Services Department to get an appointment to complete the application to see if they meet our needs requirement. This application will be sent to us for a decision. If an adult needs a hearing aid the same process is followed.

**DeafBlind Services** at DBVI support people of all ages who have both vision and hearing loss. These services help with communication, education, technology, daily living, and independence. DBVI staff complete special assessments to find out what tools or equipment may help, such as doorbell alerts, phone signalers, hearing aids, or personal listening devices. The program also connects individuals with helpful resources in their area. A DeafBlind Program Director and DeafBlind Specialist work across Virginia to provide support, training, and advice to DBVI staff and community partners. They also help make sure DeafBlind individuals can fully take part in DBVI programs and live as independently as possible.

Provides the full range of hearing testing from full diagnostic testing to hearing aid sales and repairs. Also offers diagnostic and rehabilitative services for persons (child to old adult) with speech, language and/or hearing disorders. Services available on individual and group basis.

Provides financial aid for eye exams and reconditioned hearing aids to individuals who can not afford the cost themselves. Main programs are eye exams and eyeglasses for the needy, hearing aids for the needy and sight, hearing and glaucoma screening.

Offers a civic club that helps low income individuals obtain eye exams, prescription glasses and hearing aids.

Provides audiological evaluations, audiological assesssment of middle ear function, hearing aid education and hearing aids. Offers on-site hearing and speech screenings upon request. Also provides newborn infant screenings for infants born at Sibley Hospital.

Lions Hearing Aid Foundation provides reconditioned hearing aids to people with a solvable hearing loss and a verifiable financial need.

Provides newborn hearing screening through the UVA Health System, Department of Otolaryngology, Division of Audiology. Participates in the Virginia Department of Health Newborn Audiology Program. Provides diagnostic audiological assessment.
