The BabyCare program is a home-based program that fosters safe and healthy pregnancies and healthy babies by providing free education, care coordination, and support services from registered nurses to high-risk pregnant people and infants up to 24 months of age. Services Include: - intensive case management - coordination of care - Pack 'N Plays - education about prenatal care, birthing, infant care, parenting and community resources. Free child safety seats and booster seats are also available.

Offers a support and education group that covers everything that can be expected during a pregnancy. A free educational program that is open for moms to attend as often as they like. Family members are welcome to attend with moms as well.
Offer a variety of childbirth education classes including Preparation for Childbirth, Unmedicated class, Advanced Relaxation & Comfort During Labor, Infant Care Skills, Breastfeeding Basics, Sibling and Grandparent Classes. In addition offer several Baby's 1st Year classes and new mom support groups.
Provides pregnancy testing, pre-natal care and routine well child care. Offers education about pregnancy and parenting. Other women's health services include birth control, pap smears, breast and annual exams. Provides required childhood immunizations. Car seats are available for Medicaid eligible infants and children.

Maternity Care Pregnant women are provided medical examinations; education regarding healthy lifestyle behaviors including nutrition, breastfeeding, exercise, and safety; and referrals to other agencies. Case management services, BabyCare and Resource Mothers, are offered to high-risk pregnant women. Baby Care Registered Nurses, trained in maternal and child health, identify needs, provide clinical services, and coordinate support resources for pregnant women and their children up to age two.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Women's Health Pavilion offers a full range of services for mothers and babies - from the problem-free pregnancy to one that might be high-risk. SNGH offers private birthing rooms for labor and delivery and dedicated operating rooms for C-section deliveries. Special private post-partum rooms allow mothers the choice of having the baby with them in their room. A newborn nursery is available, as well as a 48-bed Special Care Nursery equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and staffed around the clock by board-certified neonatologists (specialists in newborn care) to care for our sickest babies.
Provides a wide range of classes that teach you what to expect during childbirth, how to care for a newborn and helpful parenting skills. Also offer Maternity Case Management for first-time mothers or women who desire extra support during a subsequent pregnancy. Offers educational classes to women in the community on such topics as nutrition and exercise, siblings, Cesarean birth and infant readiness and other subjects of current concern to women. Provides no cost pregnancy tests, options education including abortion, parenting, & adoption; birth control and emergency contraception information; limited medical services including ultrasound, STI/STD testing & treatment; post-abortion support; pregnancy and parenting education and support to women and men in unexpected pregnancies, regardless of background, beliefs or situation. Offers classes that covers labor, birth, postpartum, breathing and relaxation techniques. Recommend the class be completed at least 4 weeks before due date. A tour of labor & delivery is included. Couples need to bring the following to class: blanket, 2 or 3 pillows & watch that counts seconds.
Free, on-going classes on healthy pregnancy, labor & delivery, as well as parenting skills. Classes meet once per week. Mothers should be nineteen years old or younger and in their first pregnancy to participate. Fathers, family and friends are invite to attend all classes and activities. Nutritious snack is served at each class as well as a take-home "snack pack"; YWCA can provide transportation to and from class as space is available.
All required childhood immunizations are free of charge. Adult and childhood non-code of Virginia vaccinations.

Provides health care for expectant mothers and their babies in order to give children the best possible start in life. Nurses work with expectant mothers of all ages; mothers expecting their first babies, and mothers expecting their fourth; mothers who are in their first trimester of pregnancy, and those who will delivery in a matter of weeks. Ensures that all pregnant women enrolled in the program are covered with health insurance through either Pregnant Medicaid or FAMIS Moms. Offers transportation to doctor appointments, nutrition education, infant care education, breastfeeding support with a lactation consultant, and referrals to area childbirth education classes.
