The holiday assistance program provides food and other holiday necessities to needy families in the community. The type and amount of assistance is provided on a case-by-case basis.
Offers a food basket during Thanksgiving
Provides holiday assistance at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Client must have referral from DSS or other helping agency.
Collect toys for distribution to children at Christmas. Departments of Social Services in IRCV will handle registration for Toys for Tots during the holiday season. Residents wishing to receive Toys for Tots items must bring to the DSS office: Child Must be 14yrs or under Photo ID Proof of Benefits and/or Medicaid card w/ child's birth certificate If you are request toys please contact the closest organization list below. Offers new toys/clothing through Angel Tree program at Christmas. Bring picture ID for adults, proof of income, verification of address along with birth certificate and/or refugee cards for all children in the home. Must know clothing sizes, bring an interpreter if needed, and provide information about monthly expenses. 30-45 minutes additional time will required to receive appointment information for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Applicants requesting assistance from Henrico Christmas Mother may not apply for holiday assistance from other organizations.
Provides holiday assistance programs such as Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas kettles and Adopt A Child gift program. Must pick up and complete forms at Social Services. Completed forms are to be taken to the Salvation Army to receive a Wish List form.

Provides holiday assistance to needy families in Fluvanna County. Works with Fluvanna Christian Services Happy Face program and also sponsors the Adopt a Family Holiday Program. Sends out applications to current clients only.

Provides holiday assistance, through the Angel Tree program. Applications go live on Octobers 1st. Children must be between the ages of 0-12 to qualify for assistance.

Distributes Thanksgiving food baskets and Holiday Toys along side with a Gift Cards for food to LCAC registered clients. Referrals accepted from schools, churches, Department of Family Services, and Information and Referral for individuals residing in 22079, 22199, 22122 and 22060.
Collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
Provides a bag or two of food needed to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner.
Provides holiday assistance by collecting donated turkeys, or collecting cash donations from the public to purchase turkeys for its member agencies to distribute to clients for Thanksgiving. If you would like to request help with a donated turkey for Thanksgiving, please call the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank at 434.296.3663. The food bank will try to link those in need with a food pantry in your area. Turkeys will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
For low income families with custody of children 12 and under needing toy and clothing assistance for Christmas.
