Project Discovery is designed to stimulate first-generation college-bound students through information and encouragement. Activities include cultural workshops, guidance in class selection, SOL and SAT preparatory classes, workshops in both financial aid and college life, and college campus tours. Project Discovery s curriculum offers students a place to define and build their character and their self-esteem through relationships established with one another and their Program Specialist.

Empowering adolescents with factual, medical, age-appropriate knowledge and skills that will assist them as they navigate life by making good choices, developing healthy relationships, and embracing personal responsibility. Students will learn age-appropriate information about 1) human sexuality, 2) developing and understanding their values and attitudes about sexuality, 3) healthy relationships and interpersonal skills, 4) Human Trafficking, 5) responsible screen time - social media/internet safety and 6 ) how to exercise responsibility regarding sexual relationships, including addressing abstinence, contraception, and risks associated with sexual intercourse.

Project Discovery is a community-based initiative that helps high school students stay in school and become the first in their families to attend college. The success of Project Discovery is the partnership between the community, public schools and colleges. STOP Incorporated implements Project Discovery in high schools in local high schools. Students in the 9th through 12th grades are eligible to participate. The initiative provides field trips to colleges and universities and financial aid application assistance. Funded to Serve the Cities of Chesapeake and Norfolk STOP's Technology Busprovides elementary to high school students with a mobile technology and training system that creates opportunities for inclusion in the computer programming industry. This initiative provides students onboard, at local multi-city stops, with code-building processes, mentorship and engagement to prepare them for future economic advancement. The Technology Bus provides learning opportunities in computer programming, software design, gaming and robotics and computer repair and maintenance. Funded to Serve the Cities of Chesapeake, Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach and the Counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton Youth Development Initiatives are designed to engage youth in middle and high school. These programs provide opportunities for them to gain knowledge in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture and Mathematics fields through fun and innovative workshops covering these topics. STOP provides comprehensive summer camp experiences that focus on science and technology as well as tutorial sessions for youth focusing on areas of individual need to ensure that educational fundamentals are obtained. STOP's Youth Development initiatives also encourages students to stay in and graduate high school and provides resources and tools for students to successfully make the transition to post-secondary education. Provides outdoor experiences and academic programs, at no cost, for inner city and at-risk youths, including a multi-week summer camp. Extends programs throughout the school year with The Reading Adventure Program(RAP). Aspire Connect 2016 students participate in an after school program where reading enrichment is the core focus. The Environmental Education Center offers programs to community groups. Facilities available in non-summer months for rental for corporate conferences, retreats, group adventures, and special event rentals. The Sacred Heart Center has educational, arts and mentoring programs to meet children's educational needs and engage their interests.

An out-of-school suspension/prevention program designed to promote positive self-esteem and character traits, promote regular school attendance, and improve proficiency on state academic assessments as established by Virginia State Standards. Services provided to STRIVE participants include: remediation in the core academic subjects of reading, history, science, language arts, and mathematics; individual and group pro-social life skills training; access to technology; opportunities for civic engagement; and field trips and enrichment opportunities.

An educational prevention program serving middle and high school youth who are first generation to attend college, economically disadvantaged and/or need help in improving social skills and grades. Afterschool program consists of motivational life-skill workshops, guest speakers and field trips to colleges, sporting events, businesses, and exposure to culturally enriching activities. Youth perform community service through volunteering and runs the entire year.

Provides one-to-one mentoring services to citizens throughout Metro Richmond, Hopewell and Petersburg. Adult volunteers (Bigs) mentor youth with the goals of increasing academic success, creating healthy lifestyles and building social skills. Volunteer screening and training, mentor and youth support services, and skill building are provided by staff.

NVFS' Youth Initiatives programs provide teenagers and young adults with the skills and resources needed to build healthier well-being - at school, at home and within their communities. This includes connections to healthy activities as well as the skills to build and maintain healthy relationships with friends and family. Providing youth with these tools helps them build brighter futures not only for themselves, but for their community as well.

Provide year-round academic support to children in grades 1 - 12 living in the Arlandria-Chirilagua community. Daily, nutritious meals are part of the program. Students receive an average of 350 hours of academic and general support annually. Services included are an afterschool program, mentoring, and summer program.

To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy body, mind and spirit for all. The YMCA offers activities and programs for people of all ages. No one is turned away because they cannot pay. Programs provided are wellness programs include cardiovascular conditioning and strength training, aerobic and yoga classes, water fitness, swim lessons and programs for active older adults.

The Richmond Citadel offers youth programs, spiritual support and place of worship.

The Youth Services Specialist works with schools and other youth serving programs to provide youth leadership and community engagement opportunities across the county. The Hanover Youth Service Council is a group of middle and high school students selected from across the county whose purpose is to promote community involvement and volunteerism among the youth of Hanover County. The Council meets regularly to plan and conduct service projects.

Young Professionals of Central Virginia (YPCV), a partner of the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, is a community of emerging leaders that is making a positive impact in Central Virginia. Our mission is to cultivate a young, vibrant, professional community by hosting events that connect YP's to local businesses, causes, the attractions of our region and each other.

Provides a service learning program for teens in relationship-based community agencies and volunteer projects.
