Hypothermia Shelter Services will be provided in the Prince William Area from November 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. These services aim to prevent the loss of life or limb due to extreme cold weather conditions. The Salvation Army Men's Shelter provides shelter for single men experiencing homelessness. Residents of the shelter receive crisis housing, breakfast and dinner, housing-focused case management, connection to employment opportunities, substance abuse counseling, and mental health support.
TO OUR HOUSE partners with faith-based and community organizations to provide temporary shelter for SINGLE homeless men and women during winter months (first Saturday in November through end of March). Report daily by 5:30pm to the Intake Center at NRCA; transportation provided to a warm location for the night and return to Intake Center the next morning. Meals provided.
Program that coordinates interfaith congregations located in any area of Newport News to open their parish or social halls and provide food and shelter for individuals or families who would normally spend their nights sleeping on the streets, in cars, or perhaps in empty buildings or in the woods.

The Family Services and Emergency Shelter provides families and single adults with shelter and support , including basic and intensive case management, health and nutritional programs, and other community connections.
CARITAS provides 24/7 shelter, meals, and access to showers for laundry. Clients are able to work with Case management staff towards a specified a Housing Stabilization plan. This individualized plan identifies barriers to housing, establishes housing goals and identifies the steps that are necessary for individuals and families to exit shelter and return to self-sufficiency. Clients must be referred for shelter through the Housing Crisis Line. Do NOT accept walk-ins.
WARM serves the homeless of Augusta County and Waynesboro, Virginia, through a Cold Weather Shelter at various local churches from November 20th to April.
Identifies churches which provide emergency shelter for one week blocks during the winter months. Assists homeless individuals and couples in finding emergency temporary shelter. Provides individualized case management services and life skills groups to obtain housing stability and increased skills and income. Provides the WATTS program, (Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelter) which offers emergency shelter to families and individuals in the City of Winchester and County of Frederick. The program is comprised of various churches who network to provide weekly stays (Monday PM to Monday AM) for those needing emergency shelter during the winter months starting the first week in November through March. The following services are available: cots, shower facilities, laundromat tokens, nursing check-ups and two hot meals (dinner and breakfast). Check website for current schedule.

The Embry Rucker Community Shelter (ERCS) is a 70-bed residential shelter that provides emergency housing for families and single men and women. Families need to contact Coordinated Services Planning for an eligibility assessment at 703-222-0880 to receive a referral for services to ERCS.
Temporary emergency shelter program for vulnerable and homeless families and single adults. 30-day program, with additional 30-day increments based on progress made, but not to exceed 90 days. All adults expected to gain and keep employment and attend Life Skills classes. FSS provides no financial assistance or childcare.
Katherine K. Hanley Family Shelter can accommodate up to twenty families, the goal is to move families into permanent housing as quickly as possible and continuing to work with the families once they are in permanent housing. The average length of stay in the shelter is 45 days. Case Managers help families address issues such as debt reduction, job skills, budgeting, substance abuse, parenting issues, and more.

Bailey’s Shelter & Supportive Housing is a multi-service facility that houses both a shelter program and permanent supportive housing. The shelter has 48 beds for men or women with 4 additional medical respite beds for homeless adults discharged from hospitals needing extra care.

Offers programs for at-risk youth which include Project Safe Place and the Runaway Shelter. Link House is for adolescent females ages 12 to 18 in state custody. Youth may be delinquent, unruly, or dependent and neglected. They typically exhibit emotional and/or behavioral problems from unmet needs during early childhood that may be coupled with past instances of emotional, physical and/or sexual abuse. Daily structured program seeks to build on identified strengths of each youth. The program strongly encourages family involvement to achieve the ultimate goal of family reunification. Independent living or foster family care may be sought for youth with no viable family resource. Assessment and observation services for state custody youth on referral by the Tennessee Department of Children's Services. Services include Daily Life Skills Group; Individual, Group & Family Counseling; Independent Living Skills; Therapeutic Recreation; Substance Abuse Counseling; Family Reunification; and Aftercare Services. Also, Link House offers Oasis @ Link House Residential observation and assessment program for court-ordered adolescent females ages 12 to 17. This 30-45 day program provides comprehensive assessment of the youth to determine treatment needs, which assists the courts with placement decisions. Services include Individual, Group & Family Counseling; Daily Life Skills Groups; Therapeutic Recreational Activities; Case Management; and Family Involvement. Link House also provides Project Safe Place Phone: 877-288-1828, providing temporary, emergency shelter and counseling to youth who are runaways, throw-aways, or are escaping unresolved family conflicts. This nationwide program is the only one of its kind within a 100-mile radius where youth can seek 72-hour sanctuary. The goal of the program is to intervene quickly, and assist the youth and their family with reunification. As an outreach of Link House, Runaway Program & Project Safe Place offers emergency shelter and crisis intervention services for runaway, homeless, and throw-away youth and seeks to educate youth to access services through Link House instead of running away and possibly facing uncertain dangers on the streets.
